Chandigarh, December 19:- Haryana Energy Minister Shri Anil Vij said that Panipat Electric Bus Depot is ready to operate buses with full capacity and it will be fully operational within next three months. Apart from this, out of 50 buses allotted to Panipat, 15 buses have been provided to Panipat Depot so far and the remaining electric buses will also be provided within next three months.
Shri Vij was replying to a question in the ongoing Sharad session of Haryana Vidhan Sabha here in Chandigarh today. The Transport Minister said that to control heavy transport congestion in Panipat city, the government has operated electric buses in the city and has also constructed a charging station under this initiative.
Mr. Vij said that the Haryana government is working technically and as per the need of the time and we also want to include electric buses in the fleet of maximum number of buses.
He said that in the past few days, leaders of all electric vehicle manufacturing companies from across the country had come to him, then they had said that electric vehicles cannot be fully beneficial until a sufficient number of charging stations are installed.
The leaders of the vehicle manufacturing companies talked about installing chargers for charging at home and charging stations will have to be installed at different places. He said that the government is also installing charging stations and in this regard, the Energy Department has been made the nodal agency so that charging stations are installed at different places so that there is no problem in charging electric vehicles.
