Patiala, July 25:- On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, a special awareness program was organized at Veer Haqiqat Rai Model Senior Secondary School, Patiala. During this, while paying homage to the martyrs of Indian soldiers, tributes were paid to the martyrs and the NCC cadets were given a message of patriotism, discipline and service spirit.
The school principal, Mrs. Sarla Bhatnagar, gave information about the bravery, dedication to the country, discipline and sacrifices of Indian soldiers and said that every citizen should make efforts like soldiers to make himself, as well as the country, society, family and environment beautiful, clean, safe, prosperous and developed.
Mrs. Parvinder Kaur Verma, Director of Punjab Red Cross Integrated De-Addiction Center, Saket Hospital, and Gurmeet, while making the students aware about the ill effects of drugs, said that drugs are destroying the future of the youth. He appealed to the students to live a healthy, safe and happy life by staying away from drugs, crimes, bad habits and greed.
Mr. Kaka Ram Verma, Chief Trainer, First Aid, Safety, Health Awareness Mission said that to deal with accidents, disasters and emergency situations, students should always be ready to help the needy by taking first aid and safety training.
The chief guest of the event, Dr. Rakesh Vermi, President Dedicated Brothers Group, highly appreciated the excellent achievements of the school, innovative activities, efforts to make the students aware, discipline and etiquette. He also honored the talented students who made excellent paintings and presented effective ideas regarding drug abuse, health, safety and environmental conservation.
Finally, NCC Officer Sachna Sharma, while thanking all the guests, said that the school is continuously making efforts to bring about positive changes in the thoughts, behavior and habits of the students, so that they can become brave, disciplined, healthy, sensitive and responsible citizens like soldiers.
