New Delhi:- Nitish Kumar met Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan and resigned from the post of Chief Minister and also staked claim to form a new government. Earlier, Nitish Kumar was elected as the leader of the NDA Legislature Party in Bihar. He will take oath as Chief Minister for the 10th time tomorrow.
In the meeting of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Legislature Party, Janata Dal United (JDU) National President Nitish Kumar was unanimously elected as the leader. In the meeting held in the Central Hall of the Vidhan Sabha, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Legislature Party leader Samrat Chaudhary proposed Nitish Kumar's name, which was approved by the MLAs of all the alliance parties, including senior JDU leader Bijendra Prasad Yadav and LJP (Ram Vilas) state president Raju Tiwari. With this, the path for Nitish Kumar to become the Chief Minister was formally cleared.
From the BJP, Samrat and Vijay will be the Deputy Chief Ministers. BJP state president Dilip Jaiswal said that the oath-taking ceremony will be held on Thursday, where 75-year-old Nitish Kumar will take oath as the Chief Minister of Bihar for the 10th time. Earlier, the main NDA partners elected their legislature party leaders on Wednesday.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was elected as the leader of the legislature party in a meeting of Janata Dal United (JDU) MLAs. Meanwhile, the newly elected BJP MLAs elected senior leader Samrat Chaudhary as the leader of the legislature party.
