Santokhgarh/Una, June 5 (Rajveer Chopra): The newly elected councilors of the Santokhgarh Municipal Council took the oath of office and secrecy during a ceremony held on Friday. Una SDM Abhishek Mittal administered the oath to all the councilors. Una Sadar MLA Satpal Singh Satti was also present as a special guest on this occasion.
During the ceremony, the councilors pledged to remain loyal to the Constitution, discharge their duties with integrity, and work towards the public interest and the holistic development of the area.
Those who took the oath included Anju Bala (Ward No. 1), Sandeep Kumar (Ward No. 2), Charanjeet Kaur (Ward No. 3), Iqbal Singh (Ward No. 4), Ravi Kant Bassi (Ward No. 5), Kasam Lata (Ward No. 6), Jyoti Devi (Ward No. 7), Sameer Gautam (Ward No. 8), and Anjana Chabba (Ward No. 9).
Congratulating the newly elected councilors, SDM Abhishek Mittal urged them to work with honesty, transparency, and dedication while living up to the public's expectations. MLA Satpal Singh Satti also extended his best wishes to the councilors and emphasized the importance of collective efforts for the development of the municipal council.
A notable moment occurred during the ceremony when Ravi Kant Bassi, the councilor from Ward No. 5, raised the slogan "Jai Bhim, Jai Bharat" before taking his oath. Meanwhile, Jyoti Devi, the councilor from Ward No. 7, removed her footwear before taking the oath as a mark of reverence and respect.
Those present at the ceremony welcomed the newly elected representatives and expressed hope that they would work towards the area's development, resolve public grievances, and meet the expectations of the people.
