Chandigarh:- After the controversy over her statement of Rs 500 crore for the CM's chair, Navjot Kaur Sidhu has sought security cover from Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann. Kaur also questioned the CM's silence as to why no response was given to the issues she had raised with Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria and accused the CM of "facilitating the liquor and mining mafia".
On the other hand, CM Bhagwant Mann gave a counter-reply and said that Navjot Kaur Sidhu should have thought before speaking. He said that first make a direct statement and then start asking for security. He said that Navjot Kaur Sidhu has made it clear that the CM and ministers' chairs in Congress have a price and even in the past, CMs have been taking the chair only after paying a price.
Navjot Kaur is the wife of former Punjab Congress president and former Indian cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu. The Punjab Congress suspended her from the primary membership of the party after her statement of "Rs 500 crore for the CM's chair".
In a post on 'X' (formerly Twitter) on Friday night, Kaur said, "CM Bhagwant Mann ji, I feel that now I need some security, otherwise you will be responsible. And please answer why there is no response from you on the issues raised by me before the Honorable Governor of Punjab? Why are you facilitating the liquor and mining mafia?"
Along with this, she also posted a copy of the memorandum stating the issues that she had raised with the Governor of Punjab in her recent meeting. In it, Kaur had alleged a land scam being run by the Bhagwant Mann government.
