Chandigarh June 30:- The grand closing ceremony of 'Khet Bachao Abhiyan', launched by the Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare with the aim of making farmers across the country aware of sustainable and profitable agriculture, was organized in Rewari, Haryana on Tuesday. Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan was present as the chief guest at the ceremony, while the program was presided over by Haryana Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini.
On this occasion, Haryana Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shyam Singh Rana, Director General of Indian Council of Agricultural Research Dr. Mangilal Jat were present. In the program, Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University Hisar Vice Chancellor Professor Baldev Raj Kamboj welcomed all the guests on their arrival at the ceremony and honored them by presenting mementos.
In the program organized at the Agricultural College in Bawal, Rewari district, Union Agriculture Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini jointly launched the Agro-Industrial Exhibition based on the latest research in agriculture and Haryana FPO Mission-2026. The program reiterated the resolve to give further impetus to public participation-based efforts for soil health maintenance, balanced and scientific use of fertilizers, conservation of natural resources, expansion of modern agricultural technologies and increasing farmers' income.

Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the country is moving rapidly towards the goal of a developed India, but the construction of a developed India is not possible without advanced agriculture and prosperous farmers. He said that the backbone of the country's economy is farmers and the prosperity of farmers is the basis of India's prosperity. He said that the Central Government is continuously working to make agriculture profitable, modern and sustainable. He expressed confidence that with scientific farming, modern technologies and active participation of farmers, India will become a leading agricultural power in the world.

Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan congratulated the Haryana Government and Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini and said that Haryana has presented an inspiring model in front of the entire country in the field of agriculture. He said that the state is the leading state in providing MSP on 24 crops. Along with this, schemes like Bhavantar Bharpay Yojana, 'Meri Fasal-Mera Biura', 'Mera Pani-Meri Virasat' have done excellent work in increasing the income of farmers and conserving natural resources. He said that many states of the country need to learn from these initiatives of Haryana.
The Agriculture Minister said that Haryana is not only the leading state in filling the country's food reserves, but is also a strong center of agricultural revolution. Once India had to export food grains from abroad, but today due to the hard work of farmers of states like Haryana, the country has become self-reliant in food grain production. He said that the farmers of Haryana are playing an important role in ensuring food security of 140 crore citizens of the country. Not only this, the youth of the state are also at the forefront in protecting the country on the borders and enhancing India's pride in sports. He said that Haryana is actually a center of inspiration for the entire country in three areas - agriculture, military tradition and sports talent.

The Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare called upon the farmers to use fertilizers in balanced quantities as per their requirement. He said that Urea and DAP The indiscriminate use of chemical fertilizers like are continuously affecting the fertility of the soil, the balance of nutrients is deteriorating and the environment is also having a negative impact. He appealed to the farmers to use fertilizers on the basis of soil testing, adopt natural farming and modern techniques. He said that the earth is our mother and it is the collective responsibility of all of us to preserve its fertility. He said that the 'Save the Farm' campaign has not ended today, but now it will become a mass campaign and reach the fields and strengthen the foundation of fertile land and prosperous agriculture for the coming generations.

Addressing the ceremony, Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini said that despite geographically occupying only 1.3 percent of the total area of ??the country, Haryana has been able to maintain its unique identity in the agricultural sector. He said that Haryana is the second largest contributor to the central grain reserve of the country, which is a testament to the hard work, dedication and commitment of the farmers of the state towards agriculture. 'Haryana FPO Mission-2026 will empower farmers, increase income and give new momentum to rural economy - Chief Minister
Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini said that from today, 'Haryana FPO Mission-2026' is being launched in the state, which is a historic initiative towards making small and marginal farmers economically empowered and self-reliant. He said that currently about 775 farmer producer organizations associated with agriculture, horticulture and dairy sectors are active in Haryana. Through the new mission, agriculture-based collective entrepreneurship will be encouraged by further strengthening these organizations. By providing modern supply chain, value addition, processing and better marketing facilities, farmers will be given better value for their produce. This will significantly increase the income of farmers, create new employment opportunities in rural areas and give new strength to the agricultural value chain of Haryana.
Chief Minister said, conservation of natural resources is the foundation of prosperous agriculture in the future
Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini said that the groundwater level is continuously going down in various districts of the state and the uncertainty of weather is also increasing due to climate change. In such a situation, the Haryana Government has given a new mantra for agricultural development. 'Production should also increase and natural resources should also be saved.' He said that it is the need of the hour to adopt such agricultural methods, which along with meeting the needs of the present, also preserve healthy land and sufficient water resources for the coming generations.
The Chief Minister said that the state government has made water conservation, soil health, crop diversification and climate-friendly agriculture the basic basis of its agricultural policy. Schemes like 'Har Khet Swasth Khet' and 'Soil Health Card' are being implemented effectively to curb the unbalanced use of chemical fertilizers. He appealed to the farmers to get the soil tested and use fertilizers only as per the advice of scientists.

Haryana Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shyam Singh Rana said that the 'Khet Bachao Abhiyan' launched by the Central Government will be taken forward in a more effective manner in the state under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini. He said that this campaign is not just a one-month program, but a mass movement to motivate farmers towards sustainable and scientific agriculture. The Director General of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, Dr. Mangilal Jat, said that the end of the 'Khet Bachao Campaign' that ran from June 1 to June 30 is actually a new beginning. The time has come to implement the scientific innovations and modern farming techniques shared with the farmers during the last one month in the fields. Dr. Jat said that the Government of India and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research have prepared plans for the scientific use of fertilizers at the district level as per the requirement of the crops and made them available to the state governments. He appealed to the farmers to use fertilizers only as per requirement and make maximum use of natural and local resources. He also reiterated the resolve to work with the state government to take Haryana's agriculture to new heights by the year 2047.
