Chandigarh:- Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Punjab on February 1. The Prime Minister will pay obeisance at Dera Ballan in Jalandhar on the occasion of Ravidas Jayanti on February 1 during the Budget Session. It is worth mentioning that Sant Niranjan Das of Dera Ballan had met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the past few days. It has also been announced to give Padma Shri award to Sant Niranjan Das two days ago.
Dera Ballan has a large number of followers and also has a large base in Doaba. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Punjab visit also has political significance because the Punjab assembly elections are not far away. 34 percent of the population in Punjab belongs to Scheduled Castes. BJP is currently in the mood to contest the elections alone in Punjab.
Political constituencies are seeing this visit of the Prime Minister as a preparation for the upcoming elections. Union Minister Ravneet Bittu confirmed that the Prime Minister will visit Dera Ballan in Jalandhar at around 4 pm after the Union Budget is presented on February 1.
