New Delhi:- Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Wednesday alleged that the government is not allowing Rahul Gandhi to speak in Parliament because he is scared. Because the unpublished 'memoirs' of former Army Chief MM Naravane reveal what was the reaction of the country's top leadership when China was on our borders. The Congress general secretary said that when BJP leaders speak, they also refer to books, magazines and reports, and Gandhi had even confirmed the article he wanted to refer to.
Talking to reporters in the Parliament complex, Priyanka Gandhi said that it is not that there was never a debate on China, foreign affairs or Pakistan. The government-opposition clash in the Lok Sabha intensified on Tuesday when eight protesting MPs were suspended after Rahul Gandhi was barred for the second day from mentioning an article citing an unpublished book by former Army Chief Naravane on the 2020 India-China conflict.
Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi wrote a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, registering his strong protest over not being allowed to speak in the House on the issue of national security, terming it a "smear on our democracy".
The Congress leader said, "There are things in the book which show how our top leadership—our Prime Minister, Home Minister and Defence Minister—reacted during the crisis when China was on our border. What they said and what they did. So it clearly shows what is the character of them and their government when the country is under attack."
Priyanka Gandhi further said that the Epstein files have come out which show many things about how the government allegedly contacted a convicted sex trafficker and child sex offender. She questioned, "What was he being used for, what was it that the government wanted to communicate with the US government through him?" She pointed out that these are also authentic documents of the US Department of Justice. She asked if these issues will not be discussed in Parliament, then what else will be discussed.
