Ambala, February 18:- Reiterating the commitment towards a drug-free Haryana, a large quantity of seized illegal drugs was safely destroyed today under the chairmanship of Inspector General of Police Ambala Range Pankaj Nain. Superintendents of Police of all the three districts of Ambala Range were also present during this operation organized at the premises of M/s Rudraksh Envirocare (P) Ltd. factory in Bharog.
Following the legal process, 18 quintals, 18 kg, 406 grams and 109 milligrams of drugs related to a total of 309 cases were safely destroyed in Ambala, Kurukshetra and Yamunanagar districts. These drugs were recovered from drug peddlers during various police operations.
On this occasion, IGP Pankaj Nain told the media that strict action of the police against drug smugglers will continue. The police campaign continues. A committee has been formed to destroy the seized drugs. He said that in the last 5-6 months, the three districts of his range have done a very good job. In response to a question, the IGP said that these things have zero value. Even animals do not eat them. Even their smoke is disturbing.
He told the media personnel that such things should not be glorified with their value. Their value may be for some criminals of the society and some misguided youth. He made a special appeal to the youth to stay away from all kinds of drugs and focus their energy on constructive activities like studies and sports, to create a bright future for themselves. He also appealed to the common people to cooperate with the police in creating a drug-free society.
Ambala SP Ajit Singh Shekhawat, Kurukshetra SP Nitish Agarwal, Yamunanagar SP Kamaldeep Goyal and other officers were present during the drug destruction operation.
