Hoshiarpur:- An important meeting was held by the constituency MLA Garhshankar and Deputy Speaker Jai Krishan Singh Raudi regarding the MNREGA scheme, in which officers of the concerned departments, block level officers and employees attended. During the meeting, Deputy Speaker Jai Krishan Singh Raudi said in clear words that the MNREGA scheme is a lifeline for the poor, laborers and villagers and it will not be allowed to be closed at any cost.
Deputy Speaker Raudi said that thousands of families get employment through the MNREGA scheme, which strengthens the economic condition of the villages. He said that this scheme is not only limited to employment, but is also very important for the development of villages. The ponds, paved paths, open spaces, roads and other developmental works being built under MNREGA are changing the image of the villages.
During the meeting, Deputy Speaker Raudi gave strict instructions to the officials that no negligence of any kind will be tolerated in the works of MGNREGA. He said that deserving workers should not be deprived of work in every village.
Deputy Speaker Raudi laid special emphasis on the payment of wages to the workers and said that the workers should get their hard earned money on time. If there is any delay or problem in payment at any level, it should be resolved immediately. He said that no compromise will be made with the hard work of the workers.
It was also discussed during the meeting that wrong rumors are being spread in some places regarding the MGNREGA scheme. The Deputy Speaker said that people should not pay attention to such rumors because the government is committed to fully continue the MGNREGA scheme and strengthen it further.
He said that MGNREGA is an important tool to increase employment opportunities in villages. This also stops the migration from villages to cities and people can earn a decent living by staying in their villages. He said that the joint role of the government, administration and people is very important to make the MGNREGA scheme successful. He assured that the MGNREGA scheme will not be allowed to be closed at any cost and the rights of the working class will be protected at every level.
