Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, January 20: During the meeting of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha’s Committee on Affairs Related to Budha River and Ghaggar River, Derabassi MLA S. Kuljit Singh Randhawa expressed serious concern over the continuous decline in the quality of drinking water in his constituency.
Keeping the above issue in mind, today in the presence of MLA S. Kuljit Singh Randhawa, the Nodal Officer Tehsildar, Punjab Pollution Control Board, Water Supply and Sewerage Board and Thapar Laboratory officials started the process of collecting drinking water samples from village Bakarpur.
MLA Randhawa directed the officials to conduct a thorough investigation of the water quality and ensure immediate concrete action if any adulteration or pollution is found, so that clean and safe drinking water can be made available to the residents of the area.
