Sangrur, 31 July:- MLA of Halqa Sangrur Mrs. Narinder Kaur Bharaj today started comprehensive development works to be done at cost of about 1.50 crore rupees at B.S.N.L. Park (City Park), Sangrur. Under this project along with equipping park with modern facilities, it will be developed as Divyang friendly park, so that people of every section, especially Divyangjan, can avail benefits of facilities of this park without any hindrance.
On this occasion MLA Narinder Kaur Bharaj said that under leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann Punjab Government is developing such infrastructure, whose benefit reaches equally to every section of society. She said that construction of safe public places for Divyangjan is included in main priorities of government and this project is an important step in same direction.
MLA Bharaj said that B.S.N.L. Park is an important centre for tourism, exercise, entertainment and healthy lifestyle for people of Sangrur city. After its renovation this park will be developed as an ideal public place for children, youth, women, elders and Divyangjan.
She told that under this project in park ramp, wheelchair friendly walkways, special sitting facilities, modern lighting arrangement, beautiful landscaping, increase in greenery, modern play equipment for children, open gym, beautiful seating places and other necessary civic facilities will be developed. With this there will be significant increase in beauty and utility of park.
MLA Narinder Kaur Bharaj said that for all-round development of Sangrur city Punjab Government is continuously implementing development projects worth crores of rupees. Along with strengthening roads, parks, sewerage, drinking water and other basic facilities in city, special attention is being given to making public places more beautiful and safe.
She expressed confidence that after completion of development works B.S.N.L. Park will not only become a new identity of Sangrur, but will also prove to be exemplary project for Divyangjan.
On this occasion President Bhupinder Nehal, President Avtar Singh Tari, Pankaj Garg, MC Jagjit Kala, MC Harman Kaur, MC Krishan Lal Vicky, Charanjit Channi, Kaka Haripura, Khushwinder Koch, Vinod Sharma, Noni, including officers of Nagar Council, officers of various departments, dignitaries, party leaders and large number of city residents were present.
