Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, January 29:- Today, on the auspicious occasion of ‘Jal Arpan Diwas’, the new ‘Jal Ghar’ built at a cost of about Rs 40 lakh in village Tarauli was inaugurated by the constituency MLA Kulwant Singh and dedicated it to the villagers.
Talking to reporters on this occasion, MLA Kulwant Singh said that this water supply scheme has been completed by the Punjab Government under the ‘Jal Jeevan Mission’ and the ‘15th Finance Commission’. Under the scheme, a new 650 feet deep tubewell has been installed in the village, while a high water tank with a capacity of 25 thousand liters has been constructed at a cost of Rs 26.65 lakh. Apart from this, about 2 km of new pipeline has also been laid to ensure uninterrupted water supply to every part of the village.
MLA Kulwant Singh said that the responsibility of maintaining this water supply scheme will be with the village Gram Panchayat. Appealing to the people, he said that the illegal use of water should be avoided and water should be used only as per the requirement. He said that if the tap is turned off on time after use, then the wastage of water can be stopped, but if thousands of people leave the taps open, then there will be a large-scale water wastage.
MLA Kulwant Singh said that a deep tubewell has been installed to provide clean and uninterrupted water to the people. He said that it has become a household word among the people that only filtered water is clean, while the water provided at the government level is also completely safe and drinkable.
The MLA said that the Aam Aadmi Party government under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is providing permanent solutions to the long-standing demands of the people and at the same time, development works are being taken forward at a rapid pace.
He said that demands regarding tube wells and water tanks were continuously coming in the villages of the constituency, for which a complete blueprint had already been prepared in collaboration with the concerned officials and today its result is before the people.
