Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, July 2:- MLA of SAS Nagar (Mohali) constituency Kulwant Singh visited villages Manak Majra, Bairopur and Bhago Majra under the Lok Milni program, listened to the problems of the villagers and announced several grants for development works.
Talking to reporters on this occasion, MLA Kulwant Singh said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has rapidly progressed development works by fulfilling the promises made to the people during the last four years. He said that the people are satisfied with the performance of the government and all the promises have been fulfilled by the government.
He said that in village Manak Majra, Rs 5 lakh has been spent for the lantern of the Scheduled Caste Dharamshala, Rs 5 lakh for the repair of the general Dharamshala and paver walk, Rs 2 lakh for streets and drains, three open gyms, Rs 2 lakh for needy families, Rs 30 lakh for the construction of a sports ground and Rs 4 lakh for laying a pipeline for irrigation of panchayat land.
For village Bairopur, Rs 7 lakh will be released for the work of streets and drains and street lights, while Rs 2 lakh is being spent for installing dustbins and convex mirrors.
In village Bhago Majra, Rs 23.60 lakh for the library, Rs 4 lakh for street lights, Rs 3 lakh for water tanker, Rs 1 lakh for the community center and Rs 25 lakh for the construction of a sports ground. Apart from this, houses will also be built for five needy families.
MLA Kulwant Singh said that the Punjab government is fully committed to public welfare and development. He said that more than 68,000 youth have been given government jobs on the basis of merit in the state, 85 percent of the households are getting the benefit of free electricity and the benefits of welfare schemes started for women have also started getting the benefit. He said that effective efforts are also being made for continuous improvement in the health and education sectors.
On this occasion, Sarpanch Paramjit Kaur, Senior Deputy Mayor R.P. Sharma, Deputy Mayor Harpal Singh Channa, AAP leader Kuldeep Singh Samana, former Sarpanch Avtar Singh Mauli, Ravinder Singh Bindra, Tarlochan Singh Mataur and other dignitaries were present.
