Derabassi, October 10: Derabassi MLA Kuljit Singh Randhawa today launched development projects worth about Rs. 98.50 lakh in 13 different villages of the constituency. All these projects are related to the development of basic facilities like streets, drains, roads, community centers, dharamshalas, crematoriums and sewage disposal in the villages.
On this occasion, MLA Randhawa said that the Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Sardar Bhagwant Singh Mann is committed to the all-round development of villages. He said that the aim of the government is to provide proper infrastructure, clean environment and better facilities in every village so that the villages can be converted into “model villages” in the true sense.
He said that the development works will be monitored regularly by the departmental officers so that every project is completed with high quality and within the stipulated time.
The villages in which development works were started include: Village Paragpur, regarding the commencement of sewage disposal and street drainage work at a cost of Rs. 10 lakhs, Village Ibrahimpur, regarding the commencement of street drainage work at a cost of Rs. 04 lakhs, Village Karkaur, regarding the commencement of street drainage work at a cost of Rs. 08 lakhs, Village Baroli, regarding the commencement of Phirni work at a cost of Rs. 08 lakhs, Village Amalala, regarding the commencement of cemetery work at a cost of Rs. 04 lakhs, Village Isapur Jangi, regarding the commencement of main road construction work at a cost of Rs. 09 lakhs, Village Bhagwasi, regarding the commencement of community center and street work at a cost of Rs. 08 lakhs, Village Ballopur, regarding the commencement of community center work at a cost of Rs. 06 lakhs, Village Malakpur, regarding the commencement of cemetery waiting shed work at a cost of Rs. 04 lakhs, Village Jiuli, The projects include starting the work of Dharamshala at a cost of Rs. 0.09 lakhs in village Miyanpur, starting the work of Dharamshala at a cost of Rs. 0.09 lakhs in village Bhagwanpur, starting the work of crematorium at a cost of Rs. 2.50 lakhs, and starting the work of sewage drainage at a cost of Rs. 0.04 lakhs in village Morthikari.
The villagers especially thanked MLA Kuljit Singh Randhawa for getting a paved road to Isapur Jangi after half a century.
MLA Randhawa said that these development projects will strengthen the infrastructure in the constituency as well as bring qualitative improvements in cleanliness, health and facilities in the villages. He said that development plans are being prepared according to the needs of each village, so that the people can get benefits at the ground level.
On this occasion, the village sarpanches, panches, local residents and departmental officers thanked the MLA. He thanked Randhawa and said that these projects will fulfill the old demands of the villages.
