Zirakpur (Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar), November 20: MLA of Halka Derabassi S. Kuljit Singh Randhawa today laid the foundation stone for the commencement of work of new tubewell for water supply at a cost of Rs 40.53 lakh in Ward No. 27, AKS Colony-1 of Zirakpur area falling within the limits of the Municipal Council. This step will provide clean and continuous water facility to the local residents.
Expressing his views on the occasion, MLA S. Kuljit Singh Randhawa said, “This development project is the result of the able leadership and people-oriented policies of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann. Our main objective is to provide clean, safe and continuous water facility to the people, so that every resident can get better facilities. Strengthening the water supply system of Dhakoli and its adjoining areas is among our priorities, and this tubewell will fulfill the long-standing demand of the people.”
He said that the Bhagwant Singh Mann government aims to provide smooth infrastructure facilities to villages and cities. Welfare of the people and transparent functioning are the hallmark of this government.
This tubewell will bring a major improvement in the water supply of AKS Colony and adjoining areas and will solve the problems related to water shortage, low pressure and irregular supply. This project will further strengthen the water supply system of the Municipal Council area.
Ward Incharge Mrs. Anant Kaur, the entire team including the party's block president, local ward residents and municipal council officials attended the event in large numbers and appreciated this developmental initiative taken by the MLA.
