Hoshiarpur:- With the aim of improving the living standards of the common people and providing relief to the needy families, MLA Brahm Shankar Jimpa distributed special ration kits under the "Meri Rasoi" scheme during a program organized in Mohalla Sri Guru Ravidas Nagar. A large number of local residents attended the event and welcomed the public welfare initiative of the Punjab government.
MLA Jimpa said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is continuously working to empower the weaker sections of the society and reduce the financial burden of their daily lives. He said that the "Meri Rasoi" scheme is not limited to just ration distribution, but is an important initiative related to the dignity and security of the needy families.
He said that it is the responsibility of the government to provide relief to the needy families in times of rising inflation. As per this vision, ration kits are being distributed to lakhs of families across the state to ensure that no family faces financial pressure on their kitchens.
He said that this scheme is a significant relief for the needy families, which significantly reduces the kitchen expenses. The ration kit includes 2 kg gram dal, 2 kg sugar, 1 kg salt, 200 grams turmeric and 1 litre mustard oil. Apart from this, each beneficiary family will get a special ration kit containing other household essentials every three months.
MLA Jimpa said that the Punjab government is making historic progress in the areas of education, health, power and social security. The people are getting the direct benefit of free power, better healthcare and other public welfare schemes. He stressed that the government aims to ensure that the benefits of development and public service reach the last person of the society.
