Patiala, February 18, 2026: Due to lack of knowledge among students about their health, safety, well-being, and helping the victims, children and youth are being ruined by diseases, accidents, mishaps, and fraud. Therefore, making war-like efforts to make children and youth aware is the greatest benefit to humanity.
For this, every scholar, knowledgeable person, and retired employee should make efforts like Mr. Kaka Ram Verma, Chief Instructor, First Aid Safety Health Awareness Mission, who retired from the Red Cross Society, expressed these views. Dr. Bhupinder Kaur, Principal of Punjab College of Education and Punjab College of Law, Village Raipur, expressed her gratitude and welcomed the participants during the awareness program organized during the NSS camp.
On this occasion, SI Ram Saran of the Punjab Police Traffic Education Cell provided information on understanding and honestly following traffic rules and laws, avoiding drugs, crime, cybercrime, and kidnapping. Mr. Kaka Ram Verma provided training on first aid, CPR, ABCD, and ventilator systems to save victims from heart attack, blue baby, angina, cardiac arrest, internal hemorrhage, unconsciousness, gas, smoke, and debris.
He provided information on preventing loss of life and property during fire, gas, and electrical short circuits, assisting victims, and extinguishing fires using water, mud, fire extinguishers, and cylinders. He stated that 90% of students, teachers, and citizens are not trained to save lives and property during emergencies, while many institutions conduct such training programs annually to prepare their students and teachers for future challenges.
Vice Principal cum NSS Program Officer Charanjit Singh thanked him and said that he imparts valuable life-saving information to his students every year. He added that many students have acted as saviors, saving precious lives by assisting victims in times of crisis. Therefore, these essential training exercises should be conducted in schools as well.
