Santoshgarh/Una, May 8 (Rajveer Chopra):- The political landscape of Una district was stirred when Jarnail Singh—the District Spokesperson for the Congress party, former President of the Una Block OBC Morcha, and a renowned social worker from the village of Sanoli—joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) along with his entire family and supporters.
The induction ceremony took place in the presence of popular MLA Satpal Singh Satti, where party workers accorded them a rousing welcome and expressed their delight at their joining the party fold.
Speaking on the occasion, Jarnail Singh stated that he decided to join the BJP out of disillusionment with the Congress party's flawed policies and its failure to fulfill the promises made during the elections. He alleged that the Congress government and former MLA Satpal Singh Raizada have failed to deliver on their pledges to the public, resulting in widespread resentment among the people.
He further remarked that MLA Satpal Singh Satti is a true well-wisher of the people of Una, and the credit for the developmental works undertaken in the region rightfully belongs to him. He expressed confidence that, under the guidance of Satpal Satti, the Una Assembly constituency would witness even greater development in the times to come.
On this occasion, Jarnail Singh joined the BJP accompanied by his family—including his mother Mata Santosh Kaur, wife Lalita, and brother Ravinder Singh Bittu—as well as Sardar Gurmel Singh Bhatthal and numerous supporters. Additionally, Sarjeevan Singh, who recently retired from the Himachal Police at the rank of ASI, also formally enrolled as a member of the BJP.
Several dignitaries were notably present at the event, including former Sanoli Pradhan Jasvir Kaur, former Mazara Pradhan Kuldeep Singh Lucky, former Up-Pradhan Satvir Singh, former Malukpur Pradhan Manjinder Singh, Up-Pradhan Tarsem Singh, retired DSP Karnail Singh Rakkad, Baliram Rihal, BJP District Council candidate Bindu Sharma, Rajesh Kaushal, Mahesh Sharma Mangu, Dhani Ram Kainth, Surinder Kainth, Dilbag Singh, and Bachitra Durdka. It is being said that the presence of a large number of local workers and supporters during the program will further strengthen the BJP in the region.
