Hoshiarpur: The NSS unit of Lamarin Tech Skills University, Punjab, in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society, Ropar, actively participated in the historic Hola Mohalla festival in Anandpur Sahib and organized a medical camp.
The camp was organized from March 1st to March 4th under the supervision of Rattan Kaur, Assistant Director, Youth Services. Dedicated NSS volunteers provided medical assistance and first aid to devotees and tourists stranded there for several days, many of whom were living in tractor trolleys and temporary accommodations. The volunteers served with compassion and dedication, ensuring timely medical care and assistance to those in need.
In addition to providing medical services, the university admissions team also conducted career counseling sessions for the devotees. He interacted with students and parents, informing them about the skill-based and industry-based courses offered at the university, and how a skill university differs from traditional institutions by focusing on practical education and employability.
This initiative showcased the true spirit of NSS – "Not Me, But You" – which combines social service with awareness and educational outreach. The Ropar District Administration appreciated the efforts of the students and the university management and honored the students with certificates. The university's Chancellor, N.S. Riyat, and Vice-Chancellor, Dr. A.S. Chawla, praised their efforts and commitment to social service for humanity during the festival.
