Chandigarh, August 31:- Haryana Irrigation and Water Resources Minister Smt. Shruti Chaudhary said that the supply of irrigation water has been ensured from the canals in Adampur and Nalwa assembly constituencies for the last two years as per the rotation schedule.
Smt. Chaudhary was replying to a question raised by a member of the House in the Haryana Vidhan Sabha today.
The Irrigation Minister said that there are about 48 canals/channels in Adampur and Nalwa assembly constituencies. Out of these, except Basra Sub-Minor No.-II, whose reconstruction has been approved by the government, the remaining 47 channels are being supplied as per the approved rotation schedule till the last end.
He said that 17 channels coming in Nalwa area and 4 channels common in both the assembly constituencies are being operated on the basis of 16 days of canal closure after running for 8 days as per the approved rotation program. While 27 channels in Adampur area are being operated under 2/3 group system based on water availability. In this arrangement, the channels are operated with a period of 16 days of canal closure after running for 16/8 days. He clarified that efforts are being made to maintain the prescribed water supply till the last end of the canals through the approved rotation program as per the available water resources.
