Chandigarh, August 3:- In a meeting held in Chandigarh today under the chairmanship of Haryana Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini, the construction of an integrated railway overbridge has been approved at the place of three busy railway level crossings located in Rewari district. Under this important project, a permanent solution to the problem of traffic jams caused by railway crossings in the city for a long time will be ensured and traffic will become easier, safer and smoother.
The estimated cost of this project to be implemented by Haryana State Roads and Bridges Development Corporation is Rs 207.29 crore.
Public Works and Public Health Engineering Minister Shri Ranbir Gangwa, Additional Chief Secretary of the department Shri Apurv Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Arun Kumar Gupta and other senior officials were present in the meeting.
After the completion of this project, the delays caused by frequent closures of railway gates will be eliminated and the movement of vehicles will be carried out in a smooth manner without any hindrance. This will provide special convenience to the common citizens, students, traders and emergency services like ambulance, fire brigade.
Under the project, two-line and four-line railway overbridges along with road underbridges, service roads and other modern infrastructure facilities will be constructed at required places. This will completely separate road and railway traffic, which will significantly reduce the chances of accidents and give a new boost to road safety.
This project will play a significant role in reducing traffic congestion in Rewari city, reducing travel time and cost of driving and improving regional connectivity. Along with this, it will also give a new impetus to industrial, commercial and urban development, which will benefit the economic activities of Rewari district in the long run.
