Chandigarh, May 17:- Haryana Development and Panchayat Minister Shri Krishan Lal Panwar said that the appeal made by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi regarding fuel saving, environmental protection and proper use of resources in the interest of the country is a matter of inspiration for the entire country today. Taking this thinking forward, the Haryana government is also continuously taking steps in the interest of the people.
Inspired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's appeal, Shri Krishan Lal Panwar traveled from Gurugram to Chandigarh by train to attend the Haryana Cabinet meeting to be held on Monday. During this, he did not use private vehicles and government convoys.
He said that today it is the need of the hour that every citizen understands his responsibility and uses private vehicles as little as possible. He said that if the able-bodied people also use trains, buses and other public transport modes instead of private vehicles for short journeys, it can save fuel as well as reduce road accidents, traffic jams and pollution.
He said that recently, Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini himself has decided to use minimum vehicles in his convoy (fleet). The Chief Minister has also made it clear that only essential vehicles will be included in his convoy from the point of view of safety. Along with this, he has also taken a pledge to work without any vehicle one day in a week, so that a positive message goes out in the society and people become aware of fuel conservation.
The Panchayat Minister appealed to the residents of the state to become a part of this campaign to save fuel by using maximum public transport. He said that small efforts together form the basis for big change and it is only with collective participation that a clean, safe and environmentally friendly future can be created.
