New Orleans (USA):- Dr. Sanjay Singla, Cardio Metabolic specialist from Patiala, presented his research at the prestigious American Diabetes Association (ADA) Scientific Sessions 2026 held in New Orleans, USA. Notably, he was among the only two researchers from India invited to present an oral research paper at the world’s premier diabetes conference.
The study focused on a common but often overlooked problem in people with diabetes—loss of muscle strength and muscle mass, which can make it difficult to stay healthy and active.
Dr. Singla’s research found that a specially designed nutritional combination containing essential amino acids, creatine, and Ca-HMB, along with AI-based digital health coaching, helped patients achieve significant health benefits.
The study demonstrated:
* An average 1.4 kg increase in muscle mass
* 12% improvement in hand grip strength, an important measure of muscle health
* 18% improvement in insulin resistance, helping the body use insulin more effectively
* 92% patient adherence, showing that most participants successfully followed the treatment plan with the help of AI-guided coaching.
The findings suggest that this approach may help people with diabetes stay stronger, maintain healthy muscles, and improve their overall metabolic health. This is especially important as newer diabetes and weight-loss medicines can sometimes lead to loss of muscle along with weight loss.
After the presentation, Dr. Singla said it was a proud moment to represent India on such a prestigious international platform. He thanked his research team, co-authors, collaborators, and mentors for their support in making the study possible.
The presentation highlights India’s growing contribution to diabetes research and the use of modern nutrition and artificial intelligence to improve patient care.
