Chandigarh:- Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has once again targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the issue of stubble burning. He said that if the Prime Minister can stop so many wars in the world and is known as a world leader, then he should call a meeting of all the states where stubble burning is done on the issue of stubble burning. This includes Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan. We will present our views. This will solve the issue of stopping stubble burning.
On the issue of stubble burning, the Chief Minister said that when a retired NGT judge said in his retirement speech that the name of Punjab is on the stubble smoke. For the smoke to reach Delhi, it needs winds blowing from north to south, but these winds are not blowing.
70 to 80 percent of our crop has not been harvested yet. When there was no fire, how did the smoke reach Delhi? Why didn't the smoke from Haryana reach? Haryana is located in the centre of our country. Sirsa Sahib had said 10-15 days ago that the smoke from Punjab has reached Delhi.
The Chief Minister asked why the smoke doesn't go outside Delhi? This is a political issue, to defame the state. Doesn't he know that it should not go beyond Connaught Place? Don't defame the food giver. Give some solution or suggestion. If our Prime Minister can stop wars between so many countries and is considered a world leader, then he should call a meeting of those states where stubble is burnt. We will present our side.
