Hoshiarpur:- On the directions of Director Social Security and Women and Child Development Department Punjab, Chandigarh, under the leadership of District Program Officer Gagandeep Singh, Child Development Project Officer Hoshiarpur-2 Daya Rani organized a block-level Lohri function at village Marnayan Kalan in collaboration with village Sarpanch Rupinder Singh, in which 50 newborn girls of Block-Hoshiarpur 2 were given Lohri.
Lok Sabha member Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal attended the function as the chief guest. On this occasion, a cultural program was also presented by the girls of the village. The chief guest congratulated the girls and their mothers for celebrating the Lohri of their daughters and honored 50 newborn girls and their mothers with gifts.
He motivated the daughters to get higher education and said that in today’s era, if daughters are provided with proper upbringing and education, then they can also bring glory to their parents. He gave the example of women officers posted in various positions and motivated everyone for higher education and proper upbringing of girls.
Principal Middle Level Training Center Seema Sharma informed the mothers of the children about nutritious food for their children and giving them the right food at the right time. Supervisors of Block Hoshiarpur-2, Anganwadi workers, Panchayat members and villagers were also present on this occasion.
