Santokhgarh/Una, March 11 (Rajveer Chopra): A one-day workshop was organized as part of the IEC campaign under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) 2.0 at Santokhgarh Municipal Council. The program was chaired by Harsh Gupta, Executive Officer, Santokhgarh Municipal Council. Sanitation Inspector Ashutosh Sharma, Junior Engineer E. Arsh Kumar Ratna, and Social Development Specialist Manoj Kaushik were also present.
On this occasion, Harsh Gupta stated that in the first phase of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, 309 houses have been constructed, for which approximately ?5.51 crore has been released. In the second phase, 30 houses have been approved, and construction work is underway, with the funds being released in four installments.
Giving detailed information about the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) 2.0, he said that eligible beneficiaries who do not own a permanent house, own land in the Municipal Council area, and have an annual income of up to ?3 lakh can apply for this scheme online or through the Lok Mitra Kendra. Under the scheme, eligible beneficiaries are provided financial assistance of ?2.50 lakh for house construction in four installments.
He appealed to the people present to spread the information about this scheme to every household so that more eligible beneficiaries can take advantage of it and build the safe and strong home of their dreams.
During the program, Urban Planner Anju Soni provided information about the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, and various schemes run by the Himachal Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.
Civil Engineer and Urban Planner Aditya Pathak, while highlighting safe construction practices, gave information about construction of disaster resistant houses, technical monitoring, building rules and safety codes, strong foundation, appropriate DPC, RCC frame construction, balanced use of concrete and steel (rebar), quality construction material and correct joints of beams, columns and slabs. He also stressed on the need to use vibrators while laying slabs.
City Mission Manager Sushil Gupta, Abhishek Pathania, Jaswinder Singh, Baljeet Singh, Ruchi from Municipal Council, members of self-help groups, beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) and local residents participated in this workshop.
