Chandigarh, January 28:- An important meeting of the High-Forward Works Committee (HPWC) of the Urban Local Government Department was held at Haryana Niwas on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Haryana Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini. During the meeting, proposals related to major urban infrastructure and development projects across the state were discussed in detail. Urban Local Government Minister Shri Vipul Goyal was also present in the meeting.
The meeting considered 3 tenders worth a total of about Rs 136.64 crore, while instructions were given to invite tenders again for the fourth project. In these three tenders, after detailed discussions with the bidders, the cost of the works was fixed at around Rs. 127.87 crore, which ensured savings of around Rs. 8.77 crore through this transparent process.
The projects approved include tender for providing water supply system in areas with deficient civic amenities and infrastructure in Faridabad city under Amrit Yojana and mechanized and manual cleaning of roads in Ambala City Municipal Corporation, with the aim of improving the sanitation system and urban cleanliness. Besides, the meeting also approved the remaining works related to public health services, electrical, HVAC and fire services systems for the redevelopment of Shri Mata Sheetla Devi Temple Complex in Gurugram.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister stressed on the need to complete the projects on time and strictly adhere to quality standards. He said that the state government is fully committed to strengthening urban infrastructure, making service delivery more efficient and ensuring complete transparency in public works.
The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. Arun Kumar Gupta, Additional Principal Secretary and Commissioner and Secretary, Urban Local Development Dr. Saket Kumar and other senior officials.
