Hoshiarpur:- Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain said that it is very important for girls aged 14 to 15 to get HPV vaccine, as it is an effective means of preventing serious diseases like cervical cancer. She said that this vaccine is available free of cost in all government hospitals in the district and parents should definitely get their daughters vaccinated on time.
The Deputy Commissioner said that cervical cancer is one of the main diseases among cancers in women, the main cause of which is human papillomavirus infection. If girls are given HPV vaccine at the age of 14-15, the risk of this disease can be reduced to a great extent in the future. This vaccine acts as a strong protective shield to protect the health of girls.
He said that this vaccine has no side effects and is completely safe. Ashika Jain said that sometimes due to lack of information, parents ignore this important vaccination, whereas this vaccine administered on time is helpful in saving girls from serious diseases. Therefore, it is very important to spread awareness about HPV vaccine in the society.
He said that the district administration and the health department are working together to make people aware about this so that maximum girls can take advantage of this free facility. He appealed to the parents to take their 14-15 year old daughters to the nearest government hospital and get them vaccinated with HPV vaccine.
