Hoshiarpur: Former MP Avinash Rai Khanna stated that delivering on promises made is the BJP's signature style of working. He said that the pledge made by Union Home Minister Amit Shah to the people of Punjab at the Moga rally—to eradicate the drug menace—would begin to be fulfilled in the very first phase after the BJP forms the government in the state.
Khanna remarked that the situation in Punjab is deteriorating rapidly under the Aam Aadmi Party's rule. He noted that the AAP government in Punjab has completely failed to ensure the safety and security of the state's residents. He emphasized that India is a democratic nation where the people themselves are the architects of the future.
Khanna stated that the Aam Aadmi Party made false promises to the people of Punjab to capture power and squandered the five-year term—gained through the power of the people's vote—on serving their own vested interests. He added that the future of Punjab now lies in the hands of the people.
He appealed to the people of Punjab to bring the BJP to power to establish a robust law-and-order system, ensure peace, and usher in a wave of development. This would enable a "double-engine government" to drive all-round development and restore law and order as well as peace in the state.
