Una, July 6: The Himachal government is providing financial assistance of ?1.50 lakh under the Swarn Jayanti Aashray Yojana to eligible families belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC) for the construction of permanent houses. This assistance is granted to individuals who own registered land and whose annual income does not exceed ?50,000. Beneficiaries are required to submit their applications, along with all necessary documents, to the office of the Tehsil Welfare Officer.
This information was shared on Monday by 'R.K. Kalamanch Chintpurni'—a drama troupe affiliated with the Department of Information and Public Relations—while raising awareness among villagers in Bamsera (Gram Panchayat Duhal Bhatwalan) and Ghanghret Panchayat of Amb subdivision through music and street plays.
The artists explained that this scheme is fulfilling the dreams of poor families who own land but are unable to build permanent houses due to limited resources.
Additionally, villagers were informed about schemes such as the Mukhya Mantri Sukh Aashray Yojana, Indira Gandhi Sukh Shiksha Yojana, and Indira Gandhi Sukh Suraksha Yojana, as well as issues like drug abuse prevention. Describing drug abuse as a serious social evil, the artists urged people to stay away from drugs and to raise awareness about this issue within society.

**Special campaign launched to publicize welfare schemes for the SC category**
It is noteworthy that the state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, is implementing various schemes and programs for the socio-economic upliftment of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes. A special public awareness campaign is being conducted through cultural troupes to take these initiatives to every village.
This campaign is being organized in two phases in Una district. Programs will be held in 20 SC-majority villages across the district, with four programs scheduled for each assembly constituency. Special emphasis will also be placed on de-addiction and social awareness during the campaign. **Schedule of Upcoming Programs**
Under the first phase, awareness programs will be organized by RK Kalamanch Chintpurni: on the 7th at Guret and Bharwan (alias Kangruhi); on the 8th at Dangoh Khas and Gondpur Banehra Upper (Gagret); on the 9th at Kailash Nagar and Gagret Upper; and on July 10th at Moukhas and Sakohan (Bangana). Meanwhile, in the second phase, awareness programs will be conducted by Purvi Kalamanch Jalgran Tabba from July 14th to 18th.
During this phase, programs featuring music and street plays will be held to entertain the public and inform them about public welfare schemes. The schedule includes: July 14th at Jodian and Janani (Haroli); July 15th at Jungle Panjawar and Bhadsali Tholian (Haroli); July 16th at Batuhi and Lamlehri Upperli (Una); July 17th at Jakhera and Bahdala Lower (Una); and July 18th at Paroiyan Kalan and Pansai.
Local villagers, including Duhal Bhatwalan Panchayat Pradhan Devraj, Up-Pradhan Sanjeev Kumar, Ghangharet Panchayat Pradhan Saroj Kumari, Up-Pradhan Omkar Chand, Secretaries Vaneet Kumar and Pradeep Kumar, and Panchayat ward members, were present on the occasion.
