Nawanshahr: To review the round-the-clock services provided by the local BDC Blood Center, Dr. Vishal Garg, Additional Project Director of the Punjab State AIDS Control Society, Chandigarh, and Madam Saranga Panwar, Director of Health Systems Specialist Social Development, New Delhi, conducted an inspection of the BDC. They were formally welcomed by BDC President Advocate S.K. Sareen, Manager Mr. Manmeet Singh, and Office Secretary Mr. Narinder Pal.
On this occasion, Dr. Ajay Bagga (BTO) provided technical information to the high-ranking officials regarding the 24/7 services offered at the center through 'Whole Blood' and 'Blood Cell Separator Units'. He informed them that the Blood Center charges fees even lower than those prescribed by the government for blood testing. The BTO further shared that blood units are provided to approximately 12 Thalassemia patients free of cost, without any testing fees or replacement requirements. Additionally, Kidney and Cancer patients are given a 20% to 30% discount on testing fees.
After inspecting the center, Dr. Vishal Garg and Madam Saranga Panwar stated that both the state government and national NGOs are committed to providing quality and safe health facilities to needy patients. Expressing satisfaction with the services provided by BDC, the officials emphasized that the cooperation of charitable organizations is essential to achieving this goal. They expressed hope that charitable organizations providing such vital health services to the public would continue to receive full support from society.
