Chandigarh, December 28:- A meeting of the High Forward Works Purchase Committee (HPWPC) was held under the chairmanship of Haryana Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini at Haryana Niwas on Saturday. The meeting discussed the proposals for important infrastructure and development projects related to various departments and took important decisions related to the procurement of services and works.
A total of 58 tenders were considered in the meeting, whose total estimated cost was about Rs. 4216 crore. Out of these, it was decided to retain 2 tenders. The remaining 56 tenders, whose total estimated cost was about Rs. 4166 crore, were agreed upon after detailed negotiations with the bidders at a total work value of about Rs. 4016 crore. Thus, an estimated saving of about Rs. 150 crore was ensured through the negotiation process, which has strengthened the financial management, transparency and efficient use of resources of the state government.
The meeting was attended by Power Minister Mr. Anil Vij, Education Minister Mr. Mahipal Dhanda, Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Mr. Vipul Goyal, Public Works Minister Mr. Ranbir Gangwa and Irrigation and Water Resources Minister Smt. Shruti Chaudhary.
The meeting approved the proposals submitted under the revised reform-oriented and result-oriented Power Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) to strengthen the power distribution sector.
Under this, approval was given to allot work to firms/agencies that have completed the tender process for the works related to distribution infrastructure development, reduction in line loss, establishment of new 33 KV substations and expansion and strengthening of existing substations in various areas of Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vrinta Nigam and Uttar Haryana Bijli Vrinta Nigam.
Under Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vrinta Nigam, approval was given to the works related to distribution infrastructure development and substation strengthening in Dabwali, Narwana, Sohna, Sirsa, Gurugram-2, Fatehabad, Hisar, Narnaul and Rewari areas.
Similarly, under Uttar Haryana Bijli Vrinta Nigam, approval was given to the works related to strengthening of distribution system and substation expansion in various areas of Panchkula, Pinjore, Barwala, Raipur Rani, Panipat, Karnal, Samalkha and Rohtak zones.
The meeting also approved the proposal related to implementation of SCADA and DMS/OMS system in Gurugram.
It was decided to retain tender for works related to strengthening and modernization of power distribution infrastructure of 11 KV urban and industrial feeders connected to 66 KV sub-stations under RDSS scheme in Faridabad and Gurugram.
Apart from this, the meeting also approved several other important projects related to urban development and infrastructure. These include four-lane widening and improvement works of remaining parts of Master Roads between Sectors 5/6, 6/9 and 5/0 under Sonipat Metropolitan Development Authority, construction of a new high-level bridge (on EPC mode) on the Ghaggar river in Panchkula near the existing bridge near Panchkula Golf Club on the road connecting Sector-3 and Sector-21 with Sector-23 and Sector-25, beautification and revitalization of two watercourses passing through the city and projects related to commercial and recreational uses of the areas adjacent to them under Panchkula Metropolitan Development Authority.
Construction of modern hostel buildings for working women in Sector-78, Faridabad and Sector-9, Gurugram, including civil, electrical, plumbing, fire fighting, fire alarm, CCTV, HVAC, lift, horticulture and other ancillary works along with maintenance till the stipulated time.
Apart from this, the meeting also approved the proposal related to completion of remaining works of Convention Centre building in School Education Board premises, Bhiwani.
Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini directed the officials to ensure that all the approved works are completed with complete quality, transparency and on time. He said that special care should be taken to ensure maximum quality at minimum cost in all the projects and durable, long lasting and low maintenance construction materials should be used.
