Nawanshahr: Marking the second anniversary of the Municipal Nature Garden—established last year with the cooperation of the Nawanshahr Municipal Council—the Guru Nanak Mission Seva Society and the Park Management Committee continued their plantation drive by planting approximately 50 additional saplings of various new varieties.
The heritage saplings planted today include 15 different types of native trees and plants, such as Banyan (Bohr), Peepal, Neem, Arjun, Phalahi, Pilkhan, Kikar, Jand, Pomegranate, Mango, Jamun, Guava, Kachnar, Sukhchain, Tamarind, Dheu, Amaltas, Mulberry, Beri, Amla, Drumstick (Sohanjana), Henna, and Date Palm. 
While sharing this information, Chief Sewadar Surjit Singh and Deputy Chief Sewadar Didar Singh stated that the more than four hundred saplings planted in the mini-forest two years ago have now grown significantly, creating an atmosphere that resembles a dense forest. By the grace of Waheguru, the hard work of the past two years is bearing such fruit that, in the near future, this garden will emerge as a marvel of Nawanshahr.
They mentioned that the Guru Nanak Mission Sewa Society is soon initiating work to beautify this forest. On this occasion, gratitude was expressed to the members of the Nawanshahr Municipal Council for their support in expanding the forest, and special thanks were extended to the social service organizations of Nawanshahr for their contributions to this noble cause. 
Parminder Singh Kanwal, Jagdeep Singh, Bakhshish Singh, Gian Singh, Inderjit Sharma, Ram Pal Rai, Paramjit Singh Musapur, Dr. Bhagwan Singh, Kuljit Singh Khalsa, Kulwinder Singh, Gurcharan Singh Pabla, Daljit Singh Badwal, Manmohan Singh Kanjal, Sohan Singh, and other members were also present during today's tree-planting service.
