Chandigarh, November 27:- Financial Commissioner of Revenue and Disaster Management Department Dr. Sumita Mishra said that to bring transparency in property documents, the department has started First-In First-Out (FEFO) system under document approval so that people can get services in an orderly and time-bound manner.
She shared this information after a virtual meeting with the Deputy Commissioners of the state to review the progress of various departmental programs.
Dr. Mishra said that the FIFO system ensures sequential processing under the new system. The Registrar Chief and Sub-Registrar will now approve the documents one by one in strict sequence. This system guarantees that the applications submitted earlier will be verified first, which will eliminate any scope for bias or undue delay in the verification process and will bring transparency.
Dr Mishra said that the FIFO system will address the long-standing concerns of delay in processing, which will bring transparency. Citizens can now be assured that their applications will be handled in an orderly manner and there will be proper accountability at every level. Along with this, the department is also introducing a technological view of Jamabandi, which will be activated on the portal. This will eliminate the need for citizens to upload a copy of the land record.
This decision is a direct response to the challenges posed by the existing system, where citizens were uploading 400 to 500 Jamabandi files. This was putting undue pressure on the server infrastructure and was consuming valuable computing resources. The new system helps officials access real-time, authenticated land records directly from the revenue database, which will significantly improve accuracy as well as processing speed. This will relieve people from the tedious task of downloading and uploading bulky documents, especially in areas where internet connectivity is poor.
Revenue department officials said that out of 16,912 applications, a total of 15,577 registrations have been approved, showing an impressive approval rate of 92.1 per cent. Dr Mishra said that the department has successfully resolved all the systemic challenges and has issued a stern warning message. He warned that strict action will be taken against anyone who tries to tamper with any system.
He said that to ensure seamless implementation and strengthen operational efficiency, the department will conduct technical workshops with live registration token demonstrations for officers in Faridabad and Gurugram tomorrow. The aim of this session is to enhance capacity and remove any process related bottlenecks.
