Chandigarh, December 6:- Haryana Government is fully committed to the goal of providing safe, uninterrupted and potable water in the state. In this direction, the government has developed a robust drinking water infrastructure throughout the state, through which regular supply of clean drinking water is being ensured from villages to cities.
Drinking water supply is being ensured through 1,870 canal-based water bodies, 12,920 tubewells, 9 rain wells and 4,140 boosting stations in the state.
The spokesperson of the department said that the department has implemented several projects for uninterrupted supply of drinking water. In many areas, the basic infrastructure related to drinking water supply has been strengthened. At the same time, work has also been done to replace the old lines. Similarly, drinking water supply in Sirsa is mainly done through Bhakra Main Line, which is ensuring sufficient and regular water supply in both rural and urban areas.
The spokesperson said that 55 liters of water per person per day is being provided in all 616 rural areas of Sirsa Lok Sabha constituency. Apart from this, several projects are being implemented on priority basis for water availability.
However, in two villages- Dahman and Khara Kheri, 40 liters per person per day supply is being provided at present and soon work is going on at a cost of Rs. 611.90 lakh to increase the water supply to 55 liters in these villages, which will be completed by March 2026.
