Chandigarh, June 23:- Haryana's Military and Paramilitary Welfare Minister Rao Narbir Singh said that no society or nation can repay the debt of its soldiers who protect the motherland, but governments are always committed to protecting the welfare and interests of those brave soldiers and their families. He said that in this direction, the Haryana Government is continuously taking effective steps for the welfare of soldiers, ex-servicemen, paramilitary forces personnel and their dependents.
Rao Narbir Singh said that the Haryana Government had constituted the Military and Paramilitary Welfare Department in the year 2016. Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini has announced the establishment of Haryana Military and Paramilitary Welfare Corporation in the budget for the year 2026-27 to promote the rehabilitation and livelihood of soldiers, the process of which is underway. In addition, it has been proposed to increase the budget of the department by 58.93 percent to Rs 178.14 crore.
He said that so far during the tenure of the present government, 420 dependents of martyred soldiers have been provided government jobs. Also, the lump sum gallantry award amount given to armed police forces and fire fighters will also be increased.
The Minister said that Haryana is the first state in the country which has decided to provide reservation on the lines of ex-servicemen in government jobs for the rehabilitation of fire fighters. The policy in this regard has been approved by the Haryana Cabinet.
He said that the process of construction of integrated military houses is going on in Gurugram, Palwal, Panipat, Jhajjar, Nuh, Fatehabad, Jind, Narnaul and Rewari. The office of the District Military and Paramilitary Welfare Department has also been opened in Nuh. Apart from this, there is a proposal to set up a military museum in Rewari and a war memorial in Nasibpur (Narnaul). On the initiative of Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini, a decision has been taken to build a war memorial in Nasibpur and it is also being reviewed.
Rao Narbir Singh said that Haryana has always been the land of brave soldiers. The youth of the state are also rendering important services in the Army, Navy and Air Force as well as in central paramilitary forces like BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, SSB and Assam Rifles.
He said that the state government has decided to register retired Central Armed Police Force personnel of Haryana on the website of the Military and Paramilitary Welfare Department. He appealed to all the District Military and Paramilitary Welfare Offices, Ex-Servicemen Organizations, Central Armed Police Force Organizations, Panchayati Raj Institutions and local administrative officers to motivate the eligible personnel for registration and provide necessary guidance.
