Chandigarh, March 10:- Haryana Health Minister Aarti Singh Rao has taken an important step towards improving the health facilities for Haryana government employees, pensioners and their families. With her efforts, now Haryana government employees, pensioners and their families will be able to get treatment facilities in four major hospitals of Punjab.
The Health Minister said that the Haryana government has listed four major hospitals of Punjab for treatment. These include Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, Mullapur, Punjab (this is a unit of Tata Memorial Centre Mumbai), Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital, Sangrur, Punjab (this is also a unit of Tata Memorial Centre Mumbai), Regional Spinal Injuries Centre, Sector-70 Mohali and Punjab Institute of Liver and Biliary Science, Phase-3B1, Sector-60 Mohali. Advanced treatment for cancer, spinal injuries and liver related serious diseases is available in these hospitals.
Health Minister Aarti Singh Rao said that this decision has been taken with the aim of providing better and specialized treatment to the state employees and pensioners. He said that sometimes specialized hospitals are required for the treatment of serious diseases and with the listing of these hospitals, the patients will be able to get better treatment in a timely manner.
The spokesperson of the Health Department further informed that as per the instructions issued by the government, in case of any emergency, disaster, epidemic or high number of patients in government hospitals, these listed hospitals will also provide facilities like ambulance, ICU/CCU, burn unit, ward, bed and mortuary as per the requirement.
