Una, December 27:- Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri said that the Government Excellent Senior Secondary School, Haroli, has been selected as the Rajiv Gandhi Model Government Day Boarding School. He said that a detailed project report (DPR) for the overall development of the school will soon be prepared under the Day Boarding School Scheme, and a state-of-the-art and fully equipped educational campus will be constructed at a cost of crores of rupees.
The Deputy Chief Minister was addressing as the chief guest at the annual prize distribution function of Government Excellent Senior Secondary School, Haroli on Saturday.
On this occasion, he honored students who excelled in academics, sports, and cultural activities. The program featured colorful cultural performances by students. School student Simran delivered an impressive speech on drug prevention.
The Deputy Chief Minister praised the cultural programs and announced a grant of 31,000 rupees from the Dr. Simmi Agnihotri Foundation. He congratulated the school children on their selection at the national level in badminton and wished them a bright future.

**The 125-year-old school will get a modern makeover**
The Deputy Chief Minister stated that this historic educational institution, nearly 125 years old, will be renovated to meet modern needs, with positive results clearly visible in the future. He added that the school has been established under the CBSE model.
He said that the work of development of school ground, approach road and construction of stage has been completed with the Rs 1.14 crore provided by him earlier.

**Haroli of the future is taking shape**
The Deputy Chief Minister said that the Haroli that is taking shape today is being shaped for the present as well as the future of future generations. He said that the people of the region have seen difficult times in the past, but now the children of Haroli are moving towards a new, safer, and better era.
He said that Haroli has established a unique identity in the entire northern India in the field of development, and with the blessings of the people, this identity is constantly strengthening. Along with meeting basic needs, planned development is being carried out keeping future requirements in mind, the changes of which the common people are seeing and feeling firsthand.

**New irrigation scheme worth Rs 100 crore approved**

**Haroli will be equipped with 100% drinking water and irrigation facilities by 2027**

The Deputy Chief Minister informed that a new irrigation scheme worth Rs 100 crore has been approved for the Haroli Assembly constituency. Under this scheme, old irrigation projects in the area will be remodeled, providing better irrigation facilities to farmers and boosting agricultural production.
Mr. Agnihotri said that by 2027, Haroli will become the first assembly constituency in the country where water will be available to every household and every farm, and the entire area will be 100 percent potable and irrigated. Planned work is underway to achieve this.

**Joint office building to be built in Haroli**
Mr. Agnihotri stated that, keeping public convenience in mind, the Executive Engineer offices of the Water Power, Electricity, and Public Works Departments have been established in Haroli. He stated that a joint office building will soon be constructed to bring these three departments under one roof. He stated that administrative and infrastructure development work will continue in the area for public convenience. A mini-secretariat building has been completed in Haroli, housing the SDM and DSP. Two police stations are operational in the area. This has accelerated the pace of development.

**Historical changes in the field of education**
The Deputy Chief Minister said that strong and forward-looking infrastructure development has been carried out in the field of education in the Haroli Assembly constituency. Currently, the area has
Institutions like 32 Government Senior Secondary Schools, 3 Government Colleges, 2 ITI, Law College, Nursing College, Triple ITI and Kendriya Vidyalaya are functioning.
He informed that the building of Dr. Simmi Agnihotri PG Degree College, Haroli would be completed soon at a cost of Rs 12 crore, while Rs 4 crore had been sanctioned for other development works of the college.
He said that construction of indoor stadium is going on at Khadd College at a cost of Rs 13 crore and work is also in progress towards a football stadium with day-night facilities.
He noted that the IIIT, established at a cost of ?150 crore, has now emerged as a prestigious national institution, while admission to the Kendriya Vidyalaya in Saloh remains fiercely competitive. Efforts are also underway to open an Ayurvedic college in the area.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that Haroli area, which was once considered backward in terms of education, has today become an example of educational excellence and the daughters here are today contributing as doctors, lawyers, judges and in administrative services.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that the modern hospital established in Haroli is providing better health care to the residents of the area. He informed that 15 doctors have been deployed at the hospital.

**Development projects worth crores get new momentum**
The Deputy Chief Minister said that a state-of-the-art synthetic athletics track will be constructed at Roda in Haroli at a cost of about Rs 10 crore.
Apart from this, the construction work of heliport is in progress at a cost of Rs 13 crore and efforts will be made to start Chandigarh-Haroli helicopter service in future.
He said that people are getting convenience from the bus stand in Haroli and electric vehicle charging facility is also being installed there.
The bow-string bridge in Haroli, built at a cost of ?4 crore, has been dedicated to Konjanta. Improvements and expansion of the Haroli-Karmapur road are being carried out at a cost of ?5 crore.
Additionally, an automated vehicle testing center is being constructed in Roda at a cost of Rs 5 crore, a traffic park at a cost of Rs 8 crore, and a rest house at a cost of Rs 7 crore. He added that approval has also been granted for the establishment of a sub-judge court in Haroli.

**Success in life comes from culture and discipline**
The Deputy Chief Minister urged students to respect their teachers, saying that only education, along with values ??and discipline, can lead to progress in life. He also appealed to parents to respect their teachers and not get entangled in petty issues or unnecessary complaints.
He appealed to the society to keep children away from drugs and said that people involved in drugs will not be spared under any circumstances.
Presenting the annual report, the school's Principal Ravindra Kumar gave information about the school's academic, sports and cultural achievements, as well as environmental protection and drug prevention activities.
