Una, October 10 - Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate drinking water and irrigation schemes worth approximately Rs 81 crore in the Haroli Assembly constituency on Saturday, October 11. Giving this information, an official spokesperson said that the four drinking water schemes to be inaugurated will directly benefit approximately 10,000 people in the area with improved drinking water facilities, while the irrigation scheme will irrigate 1904 hectares of land.
The Deputy Chief Minister will inaugurate the 2.36 crore lift drinking water scheme at Polia Beet at 10 am, the 1.78 crore lift drinking water scheme at Laluwal at 10:30 am, the 1.02 crore lift irrigation scheme at Nangal Kalan at 11 am and the 1.07 crore lift drinking water scheme at Batt Kalan at 11:30 am.
Following this, Mr. Agnihotri will lay the foundation stone for the approximately ?75 crore (approximately $1.75 billion) Beet Area Phase-II Lift Drinking Water Scheme in Palakwah at 12:00 noon and address a public meeting at the ground near the Radha Swami Satsang Bhawan in Palakwah.
In addition, Deputy Chief Minister and Transport Minister Mukesh Agnihotri will flag off the new Haroli-Una-Shimla bus service from the Haroli bus stand at 4:50 p.m.
This bus service will reach Shimla via the Haroli-Una-Nangal-Kiratpur (four-lane)-Bharadi-Bilaspur-AIIMS-Bharadighat-Dardlaghat-Shalaghat route. The bus will depart from Haroli at 5:00 p.m., from Una at 5:20 p.m., and return from Shimla to Haroli at 4:50 a.m.
This new bus service will prove to be a milestone for the people of Haroli and Una. Additionally, this service will prove extremely useful for residents of Una district and its neighboring state of Punjab, as well as employees, entrepreneurs, and businesspeople working in Bilaspur and Shimla.
Notably, the bus service will also provide a new, shorter alternative route from Shalaghat to Arki. This service will reduce the journey from Haroli to Shimla in approximately 5–6 hours.
