Haroli/Una, June 5 (Rajveer Chopra): On the occasion of World Environment Day, the Haroli Block Industries Association organized a grand tree plantation drive near Suri Polex. The event aimed to raise awareness about environmental conservation, promote a green environment, and convey a message regarding social responsibility towards nature.
On this occasion, office bearers and members of the association planted saplings of various species and pledged to ensure their preservation and regular care. Parveen Dhiman, Regional Officer of the Pollution Control Board, attended the event as the chief guest. In his address, Dhiman stated that World Environment Day is not merely a formal event but a significant opportunity to remind ourselves of our responsibilities towards the environment.
He noted that the environment is facing serious challenges due to rising pollution, climate change, and the excessive exploitation of natural resources. In such a scenario, every citizen, industry, and institution must play an active role in environmental conservation. Rakesh Kaushal, President of the Haroli Block Industries Association, remarked that industries are not just centers of economic growth but also bear a significant responsibility towards society and the environment.
Emphasizing the need to strike a balance between industrial development and environmental conservation, he urged all industries to promote green initiatives, adopt energy conservation measures, and adhere to pollution control standards. During the event, the members present took an oath of environmental conservation, pledging to plant as many trees as possible and ensure the regular care of the saplings planted.
Speakers emphasized that tree plantation would only be meaningful if the planted saplings grew to provide tangible benefits to the environment.
