Chandigarh, December 22:- Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini said that continuous work is being done to provide health facilities to the citizens in the state. In this direction, a hospital equipped with all kinds of facilities is being developed at every district level. So far, 10 hospitals have been dedicated to the public. All facilities including CT scan, ultrasound, MRI and lab are available in these. Work is underway on 22 more hospitals.
The Chief Minister was answering a question asked by MLA Mr. Maman Khan during the Question Hour during the winter session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha on Monday.
Mr. Naib Singh Saini said that the previous government never worried about the health of the people of the state nor paid attention to increasing the facilities. They never thought about how the health facilities can be further improved. At that time, citizens were left to the private sector and how people were exploited, everyone knows this.
Before the year 2014, only 4 specialist doctors were available in the state every year, whereas today this number has reached about 200. Not only this, in the year 2014, the number of MBBS seats was only 700, whereas today with the efforts of the state government, the number of MBBS seats has increased to more than 2500.
He said that with the efforts of the present government, today patients are also getting medicines in government hospitals and all kinds of test facilities are also being provided. Apart from this, the state government has taken many steps to further strengthen health facilities.
A 30-bed hospital has been upgraded to 50 beds, a 50-bed hospital to 100 beds, a 100-bed hospital to 200 beds and a 200-bed hospital to 400 beds. Also, the number of medical colleges in the state has also been increased. Also, special attention is being paid to cleanliness as well as treatment in hospitals.
