Dirba, September 06:- Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema today dedicated five road projects worth over Rs 9.15 crore to the public in the villages of Ladbanjara and Toorbanjara under the Dirba constituency in Sangrur district. Speaking on the occasion, he stated that strengthening rural infrastructure for holistic development remains the chief priority of the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann.
The Finance Minister emphasized that rural roads are not merely transport routes but are directly linked to the strength of the rural economy. Better road connectivity assists farmers in transporting their produce to markets while facilitating easier access to education, healthcare, employment, and essential services for students, employees, and the general public.
Cheema informed that three road projects worth over Rs 5.22 crore were dedicated at Ladbanjara Kalan, including the 3.75 km Ladbanjara to Shadihari road (Rs 148.41 lakh), the 2.40 km Ladbanjara to Nihalgarh road (Rs 123.80 lakh), and the 4 km Ladbanjara to Khetla road (Rs 250.43 lakh).
Similarly, two road projects worth over Rs 3.92 crore were dedicated at Toorbanjara, comprising the 2.80 km Toorbanjara to Dirba road (Rs 168.47 lakh) and the 4 km Toorbanjara to Gujran road (Rs 224.18 lakh).
He added that these five projects have strengthened a total road network of nearly 16.95 km, benefiting thousands of residents in their daily commute. He reiterated that the state government is utilizing public funds judiciously to ensure equitable development across all regions.
