Chandigarh, September 3:- Haryana Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shri Shyam Singh Rana has announced an important initiative to connect the farmers of the state with modern and scientific agriculture. He informed that the Horticulture Department is organizing a free 05-day training program on various types of horticulture techniques for farmers across the state at the 'Integrated Horticulture Development Center, Sundar, Mahendragarh' during the year 2026-27.
Shri Rana said that the main goal of the government is to encourage farmers towards traditional crops as well as high value horticulture crops, organic farming and safe farming so that their income can increase permanently.
Giving information about the training programs, the Agriculture Minister said that special training sessions on various subjects will be organized at the center located in Sundar. These will include training on safe cultivation of vegetables from 7 September to 11 September 2026 and from 14 December to 18 December 2026.
In addition, intensive practical training on mushroom production and techniques will be provided from 14 September to 18 September 2026, 5 October to 9 October 2026 and from 2 November to 6 November 2026. At the same time, a session on organic cultivation of horticultural crops will be organized from 12 October to 16 October 2026, and training on production of horticultural crops in open field will be provided from 16 November to 20 November 2026 and from 7 December to 11 December 2026.
Shri Shyam Singh Rana further informed that to make the youth and farmers of the state self-reliant in nursery management, special training modules have been prepared under the 'Haryana Horticulture Nursery Rules 2026', which will be organized from 30th November to 04th December 2026, 28th December 2026 to 1st January 2027, 18th January to 22nd January 2027, 1st February to 05th February 2027 and 15th February to 19th February 2027. Apart from this, a 5-day training will be organized from 4th January to 8th January 2027 on new orchard plantation and fruit production techniques.
An official spokesperson further informed that farmers between the age group of 18 to 60 years from all districts of Haryana can apply online through the portal of the Horticulture Department kaushal.hortharyana.gov.in. 20 seats have been allotted for each training batch, and the selection of candidates will be done on a “first come, first served” basis. There will be no overnight stay during the training and the selected candidates will have to produce a photocopy of their Aadhaar card and Family Identity Card (PPP) on the first day.
