Election of new organization of senior citizens will be held on April 11

Nawanshahr:- Election for the post of president of Senior Citizens Association Nawanshahr will be held on April 11, 2026. Giving information, General Secretary of the association SK Puri said that the two-year term of the current body of the association is ending in March. Therefore, with the consent of the members present in the monthly meeting of the association held on March 14, the presidium has taken some decisions for the formation of a new body of the association. He said that according to the decisions taken, the election will be only for the post of president.
The newly elected president will have the rights to form his new executive body for the next two years. The term of the new organization will be for two years from April 2026 to March 2028. For the election, the candidate will have to be proposed by one member and seconded by two members. The candidate, the members proposing him and seconding him and voting should not be in default of paying the dues of the association.
The Presidium has appointed Master Husan Lal Bali as the Election Officer to manage the elections. Nominations can be filled till March 28, for which candidates can contact the Election Officer Master Husan Lal Bali on his mobile number 98760 - 55677. The scrutiny of nomination papers will be done till March 30, 2026. The candidate can withdraw his nomination paper till April 4.
He said that if necessary, the elections will be held in the monthly meeting of the association to be held on April 11, 2026. On this occasion, Chairman Dr. JD Verma and President Professor SK Bruta were also present.
