Karnal, November 11: District and Sessions Judge and Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority, Ajay Kumar Sharda, inaugurated the Migration Information and Awareness Center at the District ADR Center yesterday as part of the "Jagrook Jao" campaign.
Chief Judicial Magistrate and Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, Dr. Iram Hasan, informed the panel advocates and mediators present that National Legal Services Day is celebrated every year on November 9th. To mark this occasion, the District Legal Services Authority organized awareness camps at various locations in the district until November 10th. In this connection, the Migration Information and Awareness Center was inaugurated today at the District ADR Center.
CJM Dr. Iram Hasan informed the panel of advocates and mediators present that the center was launched with the support of the International Organization for Migration (a United Nations organization). Her team will provide migration-related information to the public in various areas of the district and organize awareness camps.
Alok Kumar, IOM National Officer (UN Migration), explained that "Jagrook Jao" is a multi-partner initiative supported by IOM India. He explained that it is being implemented in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority, with DataLeads as the regional partner, and DataLeads as the operational partner. Through this initiative, aspiring students and workers will be provided with accurate and reliable information about the safe migration process and the risks of irregular migration.
Sayed Najakat, CEO of DataLeads, explained that this initiative will provide essential information on living and working conditions, social security, health, and education in key destination countries. At the end of the event, IOM National Officer (UN Migration) Alok Kumar said that the success of this initiative will serve as a model for other districts in Haryana and other states in India to scale up the impact of public and private partnerships in collaboration with local networks to ensure safe migration.
