Patiala:- A meeting of Congress workers from the Nabha constituency was organized at the Vishwakarma Mandir Auditorium in Bhadson on June 7, 2026. The event was hosted by Sardar Kulwant Singh Narike, Vice President of the District Congress Committee (Rural) Patiala, President of Shri Begumpura Mission (Regd.) Punjab, and Chief Editor of the Punjabi magazine "Gusaiyan."
During the event, a discussion was held on the "Current Situation of Punjab," and the June issue of the "Gusaiyan" magazine was officially released. Dr. Dharamvira Gandhi, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) from Patiala, participated as the Chief Guest and keynote speaker. The stage was managed by Gurcharan Singh Chann Patialvi, General Secretary of the Shri Begumpura Mission, while renowned poet Darsh Pasyana opened the program by reciting a poem dedicated to Guru Ravidas Ji.
In his welcome address, Kulwant Singh Narike shared that he has been active in politics for four decades, primarily serving the Congress party. He noted that he has been running the Shri Begumpura Mission since 2006, with the aim of fostering economic, social, educational, and cultural upliftment to achieve equality in society. He has also been serving Punjab and the Punjabi language continuously since 2008 through the monthly magazine "Gusaiyan." He thanked everyone for their participation in making the event a success.
In his address, Dr. Dharamvira Gandhi praised Kulwant Singh Narike for his forty years of dedication to building an egalitarian society and fostering social consciousness. He emphasized that the Congress party needs to promote such tireless and honest leaders in the Nabha constituency.
Speaking on the current state of Punjab, Dr. Gandhi remarked that the present government had promised to make Punjab debt-free but instead pushed the state further into debt, which has now crossed four lakh crore rupees. He asserted that Punjab can be saved from ruin by bringing about a change in power and bringing the Congress party to the forefront, adding that by establishing the rule of the people, the land of Punjab can be transformed into a heaven.
The event was also addressed by Gopal Singla (Vice President, District Congress Committee Urban, Patiala), Amarjit Singh Ghagga (Vice President, Rural, Patiala), Professor Jaswant Singh (PA to Dr. Gandhi), Avtar Singh Nanhere (President, All India Combine Association), and Azmeel Khan (General Secretary, Minority Cell, Congress Party Punjab).
Several prominent personalities attended the function, including Satnam Singh (Former Deputy Director, Language Department Punjab), Dr. Surinder Bhardwaj, Vijaypal Grewal, Bhagwant Singh Bugga, Mandeep Kharoud, Jatin Bhadson, Karam Singh Lohat, Rajpal Singh Tiwana, Ramnik Singh Ramni, Jasveer Singh, Harbans Malhewala, Principal Jagroop Singh, Superintendent Ajaib Singh, Sukhdev Singh Gobindpura, Karnail Singh Sakrali, Darshan Singh Sidhu, Gurbachan Singh Matourda, Hans Raj JE, and Gurkirat Singh Sakrali, among others.
