Garhshankar, October 22 - Today, the monthly meeting of the Sabha was held at the office of Doaba Sahitya Sabha (Regd.) Garhshankar and Sardar Major Singh Mauji Library located at Gandhi Park under the chairmanship of the Sabha President, Principal Dr. Bikkar Singh, in which the book "Gursikhi Prashnotri" written by the patron of the Sabha Santokh Singh Vir Ji was released to the public.
Speaking about the book written by Santokh Singh Vir Ji on the occasion of releasing the book, eminent critic of Punjabi literature, Professor J.B. Sekhon said that the style used by Santokh Singh Vir Ji in this book carries forward the tradition of Indian, especially ancient Punjabi, times and this tradition is very much needed at this time.
Speaking on the book at this time, employee leader Mukesh Kumar said that when the authorities have completely banned questioning in the country, at such a time, there is a great need for books that ask questions and at the same time create a dialogue to find the answer to them.
Sabha President Principal Dr. Bikkar Singh congratulated the readers on the book dedicated to Sikh ideology by Santokh Veer Ji through Doaba Sahitya Sabha and wished him well for his permanent settlement abroad. He thanked Veer Ji for his long-standing services to the Sabha. On this occasion, Veer Ji said that he will always be indebted to the Sabha for the respect and honour given to him by the Sabha.
The Kavi Darbar held in the second session of the event was presided over by Mr. Parminder Singh, Superintendent Khalsa College Garhshankar. Various poets Sardar Tara Singh Cheda, Madam Jasvir Kaur, Hansraj Garhshankar, Balvir Khanpuri, Taranjit Gogo, Santokh Vir Ji, Vijay Bhatti, Advocate Prabhjot Singh Nawan Shahr, Prof. JB Sekhon, Mukesh Kumar, Amarjit Bangar, Mandeep Kumar, Principal Dalwara Ram, Gurdeep Singh Mukadam and Jarnail Singh presented their works in the Kavi Darbar. Parminder Singh Ji, while presiding over the Kavi Darbar, also presented a contribution of Rs. 1100 towards the expenses of the society.
At the end of the meeting of the society, Santokh Vir Ji, in the joy of going abroad, presented a contribution of Rs. 5000/- to the society. The President of Doaba Sahitya Sabha (Regd.) Garhshankar thanked him for his commitment to remain associated with the society and thanked all the colleagues present in today's meeting for their good wishes for going abroad.
