Derabassi, 25-09-2026:- PS Arts and Cultural Society Chandigarh organised a three-day International Theatre Workshop at Tagore Theatre, Sector-18, Chandigarh. Activities related to mental health and theatre were conducted during the workshop. During the International Theatre Workshop, a programme titled “Rang Punjab De”, depicting Punjabi culture, was presented with great enthusiasm on September 25, 2026. Artists presented the musical colours of Punjabi identity and Punjabi heritage.
Jathedar Sardar Baljit Singh Daduwal Ji, Chairman of the Dharam Parchar Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee and Ambassador for Peace, attended the programme as the chief guest. A.S. Rai (DGP Punjab), Bal Mukand Sharma (Retired Chairman, Food Commission, Punjab), Simar Singh (President, Sikh History Foundation), Dr. Satish Verma (Professor Emeritus, Desh Bhagat University and recipient of the Shiromani Natakkaar Award), Manveer Singh (President, Car Association, Chandigarh), Chetan Dhaliwal (Member, Food Commission Punjab), Sukhi Brar, Parmdeep Kaur Bhalla (wife of late Dr. Jaswinder Singh Bhalla), Kanchan Sharma (Chairperson, Punjab Trade Promotion Council), Nisha Luthra (Poet, Film and Theatre Director) and Anju Katyal (MC, Sector 22, Chandigarh) were also specially present at the programme.
PS Arts and Cultural Society President Parveen Sandhu and Chairman, President’s Awardee Balkar Sidhu, honoured chief guest Jathedar Sardar Baljit Singh Daduwal Ji (Chairman, Dharam Parchar Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee and Ambassador for Peace) with a memento on behalf of the society. All those who participated in the programme were also honoured with mementoes.
Jathedar Sardar Baljit Singh Daduwal Ji (Chairman, Dharam Parchar Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee and Ambassador for Peace) described the cultural programme organised by PS Arts and Cultural Society as highly commendable and enjoyed the entire programme. He said that glimpses of Punjabi heritage could be seen in the programme. Seeing Punjabi attire, saggi phull, kanthas, parandas, phulkari and spinning wheels brought back memories of the time when there was a sense of shared community in villages. He encouraged Parveen Sandhu to continue making such efforts with greater enthusiasm so that the younger generation remains connected with its heritage.
During the programme, PS Arts and Cultural Society Chairman and President’s Awardee S. Balkar Sidhu and his team presented Punjabi dances Luddhi, Jhoomar and Bhangra. Along with this, Gurdeep Kaur and her team presented Giddha.
While the entire programme was guided by PS Arts and Cultural Society President Parveen Sandhu, the society’s entire team, General Secretary Rajdeep Kaur, Cashier Arshdeep Singh, Assistant Secretary Manjit Kaur Meet, Preeti Jain, Dhanjya Chauhan, Navpreet Kaur, Rupinder Kaur, Muskaan, Balbir Kaur Soni, Jasmine Singh Soni, Amritpal Kaur Patiala, Resham Singh Sandhu, Navnoor Sandhu, Shama Mahajan and Teja Singh Thuha made valuable contributions towards successfully organising the programme.
Anchor Deepali Bhalla presented the outline of the programme in a very organised manner.
PS Arts and Cultural Society President Parveen Sandhu said that with the cooperation of the entire team, this programme too was successful like all other programmes. The audience came with their families and enjoyed the programme.
