Haroli/Una, June 24 (Rajveer Chopra): The condition of the Government Ayurvedic Health Centre (Nangal Kalan/Tahliwal)—also known as the Arogya Ayush Mandir—along with the Anganwadi centre and the 'Sarai' (rest house) building located near the Sarai in Ward No. 6 of Nagar Panchayat Tahliwal, is deteriorating day by day. Due to a lack of proper maintenance over the years, these public buildings have fallen into a dilapidated state, causing concern among local residents.
According to reports, the Government Ayurvedic Health Centre previously operated within this complex. About six years ago, the health centre was relocated to a new building near the Nagar Panchayat office. Following this, the old building suffered from neglect, leading to its continuous deterioration; today, it is in a ruinous condition.
The Anganwadi centre that once operated in this complex was also shifted to a rented building several years ago due to the dilapidated state of the structure. The rooms originally built for the Anganwadi are now in a state of disrepair and are no longer fit for use.
Locals state that the two rooms constructed for the Sarai have also fallen into neglect due to the lack of maintenance. Meanwhile, the dilapidated building within the complex poses a risk of a major accident at any time. Despite this, neither the Nagar Panchayat nor the concerned departments have taken any concrete action so far.
Area residents are questioning who is ultimately responsible for the wretched condition of these buildings, which were constructed using public funds. People have urged the district administration, the Nagar Panchayat, and the relevant departments to conduct a prompt survey of the buildings and undertake necessary repairs or reconstruction. This is essential to prevent any untoward incidents in the future and to ensure the preservation of public property.
